On March 28th, 2023 at 17:00, the second free webinar of the NetPoulSafe project will take place. We will discuss about Hygiene lock and farm zoning as biosecurity measures and about the Biocheck.ugent risk-based scoring tool.

Mattias Delpont (INRAE/ENVT, France) will explain the importance of hygiene locks. Hygiene locks – usually located at farm or barn entrance – allow personnel and equipment to cross zones (sometimes referred to as clean and dirty zones). The biosecurity measures implemented in hygiene locks (cleaning hands, changing clothes and boots etc.) reduce the probability for a farm zone to be infected with infectious micro-organisms of importance to poultry and/or public health, such as Avian Influenza, Salmonella or Campylobacter. Managing good compliance with biosecurity practices in hygiene locks requires good comprehension of its principles, a good spatial organisation and user-friendliness. Different ways of fulfilling these requirements will be discussed.

Arthi Amalraj (UGENT, Belgium) will present the Biocheck.ugent scoring system to quantitatively assess the biosecurity level of poultry farms.
